AI-Enabled Grid: Cutting-Edge Tech Drives Significant Efficiency Gains

With AI technology as its core engine, Dongfang Electronics Corporation deeply integrates it with key business areas such as power dispatch, operations and maintenance, and smart cities to construct an innovative "Power+ AI" ecosystem. In the domain of image algorithms, the solution developed by the team ranks among the top tier for domestic substation inspections, achieving a device type identification coverage exceeding 98% and a defect detection rate above 95%. The intelligent inspection system can replace 75% of manual patrol tasks. Regarding large models, the "Dongfang Dianwen" AI platform integrates end-to-end AI capabilities, equipped with computing power management and service delivery functions. Millimeter-scale precision modeling has been enabled using digital twin technology, which is now operational in multiple 1000 kV Ultra High Voltage (UHV) substations. In robotics, the company possesses various types of robots and control platforms capable of replacing human entry into high-risk environments.

Smart Grid Dispatch and Data Center: Full-Spectrum Control Ensures Higher Synergy

The Smart Grid Dispatching System represents the company's next-generation system for dispatch and distribution network automation. The system is widely utilized by generation, transmission, and distribution companies, offering a complete integrated solution for power analysis, simulation, operation, and dispatch. Featuring monitoring, control, and network analysis capabilities, the system fulfills the overall objective of developing a new-generation dispatch and distribution network automation system that is technologically advanced, reliable in operation, safe to handle, user-friendly, and highly functional.

The data center integrates multi-source data from the main grid, distribution network, and marketing systems, establishing a unified data foundation that spans all voltage level links. By employing an integrated model for generation, distribution, and consumption, the system enables real-time monitoring and deep analysis across the entire domain, enhancing power system management and operational efficiency, facilitating cross-system data sharing, and supporting the collaborative and efficient operation of all electricity business processes.

Smart Transmission and Substation Solutions: Independently Controlled and Globally Leading

The company was among the earliest domestic manufacturers to enter the field of substation automation. From early Remote Terminal Units (RTUs) to the latest generation of highly reliable secondary systems, multiple product generations have been introduced to the market, contributing significantly to the development of the power system. By the end of 2022, the full suite of independently controlled products had completed development, passed State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC) specialized testing, and was assessed by authoritative institutions as reaching an international leading level. Furthermore, qualification has been obtained for 220kV and above high-voltage protection series devices, establishing supply capability. In 2023, the company's first new-generation high-reliability secondary system was fully deployed at the 110kV Jibu Substation in Jiangxi, completing the necessary technological reserve for future integrated substation automation requirements.

Smart Power Distribution Solutions: Panoramic Sensing, Lean Management

Since the 1990s, the company has focused on distribution automation, making it one of the first domestic suppliers in the field with a complete product portfolio for distribution networks. Facing the challenges of the new power system, the company's smart distribution solutions feature comprehensive modeling and full-scope sensing capabilities. This allows for real-time situational awareness and refined management of the distribution grid, enhancing its resilience and self-adaptation.

Smart Power Consumption Solutions: End-to-End Deployment Empowers Domestic and International Markets

In the smart power consumption sector, the company highlighted its complete suite of solutions designed to support the new power system. Through innovations such as smart inspection, "four-controllable" photovoltaics (PV), microgrids, and overseas digital power solutions, the company has established an end-to-end framework—spanning from power consumption data collection and advanced metering instruments to new energy planning and construction.

The company serves power grid companies across more than 30 provinces and municipalities nationwide. Its provincial integrated marketing management system has been recognized as a "National Patent-Intensive Product," cementing its position as a core supplier for power marketing IT. Additionally, the company offers a "Power Energy Marketing and Customer Management" digital solution for the international market, integrating marketing and technical services to help overseas clients upgrade their operations.

Smart New Energy Ecosystem: Core Tech Drives Green Transition

The company's energy storage division boasts core competitiveness, utilizing grid-forming technology to overcome challenges associated with high-penetration renewable energy integration. Its Energy Management System (EMS) and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Cloud Platform facilitate seamless cloud-edge collaboration and intelligent decision-making. Moreover, SVG (Static Var Generator), district energy storage, and flexible DC interconnection are employed to optimize power quality. The company also commands core microgrid technology, with solutions widely implemented in remote and island regions. Shore power systems further contribute to the development of green ports.

Rail Transit: Full-Spectrum Coverage with Smart Support

The company initiated research and development into rail transit technology and products in 2009 and now offers a full range of solutions across various application scenarios. For main substations, the company provides products such as integrated automation, AC/DC panels, reactive power compensation, and smart meters. In metro stations, its independently developed substation automation systems, transformers, switchgear, and intelligent prefabricated substations are widely utilized nationwide. For the line control center, integrated power monitoring provides real-time monitoring of the operational status of electromechanical and power equipment. In addition, the smart power supply O&M system delivers technical, business, and data support for smart metros.
